A special photography session
This one was very special to me since Kayla is my niece and she shares my birthday. I have watched her grow into a very independent young woman. She was my first Senior Picture and believed in my work even when I didn't. I had asked to not be her photographer for this and her wedding, but she has insisted over and over so I caved. I am very happy that I did. I will post more later when they give us the final date to put on a few pictures and talk more about our crazy day, but I had to express my thanks to her for all the years of support on its own.

Megan and Boomer Salley | Wedding Video | Oak Grove - Kansas City MO
We had the pleasure tonight of having one of our newest young couples coming in tonight to see their pictures and get the link for the Album preview so we can get that ordered and we Surprised them with a Fusion video. The more we do these videos the more we love how it seems to go hand in hand with our photos. We don't need a lot of video, but it gives life to the album and you can get a feel of the day even more so then with just pictures. It's also making us much better photographers as we continue to learn something new! We passed the gallery to them and gave them one of our last Sandisk 100yr drives.... :( along with this video to enjoy!
Here are a few more pictures also from the night to show them what the album edited versions will look like.

Nate and Gabriel Warn | Baby Photography | Kansas City
About 3 years ago I really started to make photography the majority of my work and passion after Ann moved up here. I had been doing it on the side for a few years, but never babies and never as a Studio. At the time I was working at Hallmark and offered a really cheap shoot as a portfolio builder on their inter-office site. That is where we met the Warn family. Actually the Grandma sent me an email saying we had shot a co-workers close to her and wondered if we would do a year session every 3 months for her grandchild Gabriel. We had no idea what to do or expect, but we accepted the challenge and learned that we absolutely loved doing it. Our first pictures were still pretty good and the family let us drive up to them. Here is our very first baby session ever and when we first met Gabriel.
Then Tuesday we had a reunion of sorts by getting to take pictures of Gabriel's baby brother and of Gabriel! Its amazing how much they grow and how attached to our clients you can get.
And his new little Brother Nate!

Arkansas Retreat....
Ann worked out a few of the landscape and animal (horses) pictures we took on our mini-vacation to Arkansas.
We just got back from our Workcation....
Ya it's not a word, but we did just take a few days and went to the lake house in Arkansas. We wanted the time to get away from things as much as to get a few things done. We have been tossing around ideas for the studio and for us for the past few months and have never been able to get on track with things. So we packed up Dakota and our camera's (of course) and headed out to a place without internet for a few days. We took the laptop and our ideas to get a restart. We we did just that and we will be really hashing the rest out over the next few days. Ann also got an amazing shot of the river with fog and lightning... Can't wait for her to share that one!
For now thats all.. We have a busy week with some sessions to finish up, all new photos for the windows, one of our favorite clients just booked for Thursday, lots of things in the studio to move and clean up and we can't wait!
Sorry that its so short, but we wanted to let everyone know that we are back in the studio if your looking for us and that we will have many many more posts coming soon.

Megan and Boomer Salley | Oak Grove MO Wedding | Kansas City Wedding
Finally have a few minutes to post about the awesome wedding of Megan and Boomer.. We had the privilege to shoot the wedding this weekend! Such a cute and nice couple. The wedding was simple and very well done for the time of year that we are in. The Bridesmaids and Groomsmen looked great in the dark blues and soft yellows. The flowers from Holly's Floral were mostly Sunflowers and looked absolutely wonderful. We booked this awesome couple last year and had not had as much time to meet up with them as we would have liked, but they were still so easy to work with. Even though Megan came in last week with a HUGE list of shots she wanted. We got em all!, ( i think.... ). While I don't have any of the creatives done we have been able to keep getting a timeline out for the couple to use on facebook within 24 hours and that is amazing itself. That way while we are working on the best of the best and doing a few creatives the bride and groom and still share some amazing memories. Here are a few of the timeline that we took and already shared on Facebook.

Clean up
Ok.. We do admit that blogging has not come into the daily job as often as it should have here in the studio so starting this week we are going to try to do more little posts and less big OMG ones and see if we can keep it up and going. Tonight we have been crazy in the studio trying to clean up websites, logos, and all of our basic business stuff as we are cleaning house and making things simpler. To show that we have done something tonight here is our Mission Statement for the Studio and a Jpeg for our new Referral Program.
